Mark Farino, one of our undergraduate students in the Physics and Astronomy department and mentored by Dr. Vladimir Savinov, has received the 2021 Goldwater Scholar Award.
This distinguished scholarship was awarded to 410 students across the U.S. this year, and Pitt students have received 2 of these competitive awards. About 1256 natural science, engineering and mathematics students were nominated by 438 academic institutions to compete for the 2021 Goldwater scholarships. Congratulations to Mark for standing out among this competition!
