Title: The Future of High Energy Physics Under the Higgs Lamppost

Abstract: After a brief overview of the 50-years un-interrrupted success of the high energy physics program and the establishment of the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, we discuss the recent discovery of the Higgs boson and its implications. The milestone discovery raised more fundamental questions than answers. We emphasize the similarity and difference of the Higgs mechanism from the superconductivity, and the potential connection with the early universe cosmology. We argue that the collective efforts of the future high energy physics programs hold great promise to uncover the Laws of Nature to a deeper level.
